Staying Safe During a Concert

A live concert can turn into one of the most exciting events of your life, seeing a band you adore can make it an experience you’ll never forget. Indeed, many people reminisce about a concert they attended many years and decades later. Imagine screaming over Elvis’ laughter or applauding Dylan’s nasal drawl. Or watching Rolling Stones perform their magic live. But staying safe during a concert is also something you should think about, before going to one. In all the excitement of seeing your favorite band, this is something you could completely forget about. Do remember that concert arenas can be seriously crowded with all sorts of people, most times, there’s hardly any place to move, depending on the popularity of the band. As you can imagine, many risks come with closed, packed spaces, containing hundreds of people whose adrenalin is thumping.

First thing to remember is the state of your own health. Are you just recovering from a major illness? Are you pregnant? Have you had flu recently? If you’ve had some sort of surgery, a concert may not be the right place during recovery. If you have been getting better from an illness or even just had flu, you might be dehydrated and weak. You may have to buy water that cost a good couple of dollars and it may not be too easy to get to the water stand, but you’ll have to make sure you stay hydrated somehow.

Another safety aspect to consider is the type of concert and the kind of fans may come. Might people get into brawls or threatening your safety? Get good seats if this is the case, so remain relatively safe. Remember the exits and where you came from. If you sense something off, you could leave before it’s too late and there’s a stampede. Concerts are also notorious for pickpockets and petty thefts, if you don’t need your credit cards, try and leave them at home for just that evening.

Buying Tickets Online

If you wish to buy concert tickets online, these are usually available at the websites of the band, and almost all bands have their own websites these days. You could also keep a track of their performances or get good deals from sites that are speciliazed in concert ticket selling.

If you’re keen to follow a band and make sure you catch them in action but do not have the time to keep a track, you could also subscribe to their newsletter or alerts. In case you have been late to book and tickets have been sold out, you could scour for good deals online on sites like Craigslist. Also look at local listing sites to see if anyone is selling their tickets, things many a times come up and people have to unfortunately cancel. This could turn into an opportunity for you and you could negotiate a good price for these tickets. You can also find upcoming concert tickets on many online concert tickets sites.
